An irish pub was the unexpected inspiration behind this nashville new build
This is a brand-new house in Nashville, but the design aimed to make it feel like it has a lot of history. A big part of that was creating a detached Irish pub, which was a specific request from the owners. The home's interior also uses a lot of natural materials and salvaged items to achieve a similar aged look.

Round table looks great with the gray chairs. feels cozy without trying.

That metal canopy bed against the soft colors is doing it for me.

Speckled wallpaper is surprisingly cute. feels a fun hangout.

Twin beds with gray shiplap, sleepover energy but grown-up calm.

Beige wallpaper and double mirrors make this bathroom feel hotel-nice.

Those floor-to-ceiling windows with the stone wall, bright, warm, and actually livable.

Stone wall in the kitchen? Okay, I’m cooking more than pasta tonight.

The open-riser staircase looks art and also slightly dangerous in socks.

Rich wood bar glows. This would ruin my Dry January immediately.

Little pub corner with the tufted banquette—yes, please, long stories and snacks.

Details
This is a 7,500-square-foot new construction home in Nashville, designed by Marie-Joe Bouffard of JFY Designs. The homeowners wanted the house to feel lived-in and historic, with a unique Irish pub as a central feature. The pub, called "The Master Plan," was created with the help of a consultant from The Irish Pub Company, and many of its elements, including the wall cladding and furniture, were shipped from Ireland. Inside the main house, a variety of materials like stone, shiplap, and Roman clay are used throughout the rooms to give them an aged appearance.
The design team also sourced vintage items from antique markets to add character, such as a leather bike in the family room and a butcher-block table in the kitchen. The home has five bedrooms and four full and three half bathrooms. Notable features include a dual-sided fireplace and a floating staircase made from a walnut tree that was removed from the property. The design emphasizes warmth and authenticity, with careful attention paid to details to make the new build feel timeless.
