Prepare for the beaver invasion!

The travel center phenomenon known as Buc-ee’s is finally expanding its empire into completely new territory this summer.

What Makes Buc-ee’s a Legend?

If you’re not from Texas or one of the handful of states lucky enough to have one, you might wonder what all the fuss is about.

It’s not just a gas station; it’s an experience.

Patrons rave about the unbelievably clean restrooms – a far cry from your average roadside stop.

Then there’s the food. We’re talking fresh BBQ carved right in front of you, homemade fudge, jerky in dozens of flavors, and the iconic sweet and crunchy “Beaver Nuggets.”

And let’s not forget the merchandise. From branded apparel and home goods to quirky gifts, you can literally spend hours just browsing.

It’s a unique blend of convenience store, restaurant, and shopping destination, all under one massive roof.

Building Gigantic New Outposts

These aren’t small operations popping up. Buc-ee’s is known for scale, and these new locations are no exception.

The upcoming stores are reportedly around 74,000 square feet each – roughly the size of a grocery store and then some.

They feature an enormous number of gas pumps, often exceeding 100, plus dedicated electric vehicle charging stations.

Hundreds of parking spaces are included to accommodate the massive crowds they inevitably draw.

Beyond serving travelers, each location is a significant economic boost for the local community, bringing hundreds of jobs.

Virginia’s Governor Glenn Youngkin previously welcomed the new location, highlighting its impact.

“Virginia is proud to welcome @bucees to the Commonwealth!” Youngkin said. “Today’s groundbreaking represents 200 jobs and an investment of more than 60 million dollars in Rockingham County. I look forward to stopping by for some Beaver Nuggets soon!”

Expanding the Footprint

While rapidly growing, Buc-ee’s has been selective about where it establishes itself, often leading to intense anticipation in potential new states.

Its loyal following travels far and wide just to visit a location.

The Texas brand has slowly but surely expanded its reach across the South and into some bordering states.

But this summer marks a notable push into fresh territory for the beaver.

The Big Reveals: Where and When?

The highly anticipated grand openings bringing Buc-ee’s to two brand new states are set for June.

Mississippi will get its first-ever location in Harrison County, with a grand opening slated for June 9th.

Virginia follows shortly after, with its first location in Rockingham County opening its doors on June 30th.

Additionally, Georgia will welcome its third Buc-ee’s, located in Brunswick, set to open on July 1st, further solidifying the chain’s presence in the Peach State.

Travelers along key interstates in these regions are about to discover why Buc-ee’s earns its “Gas Station Disneyland” moniker.
